The area surrounding Columbia University is called Morningside Heights. The surrounding area is peaceful and serene, close to subways and a quick trip to midtown. It is enclosed between Riverside and Morningside Parks, offering plenty of recreational space. The area is also home to the world’s largest Anglican cathedral, St. John the Divine, and Riverside Church, both awesome structures that offer an oasis for quiet relaxation in the middle of the concrete jungle.
