Gramercy Park feels like a small village in the heart of a city, with elaborate brownstones and quaint narrow streets. Once one of the more exclusive neighborhoods to live, it now has charming bars, bodegas, and restaurants throughout the surrounding area, many of which include live music. In general, the closer you are to the park, the nicer the building. Luxury brownstones and pre-war doorman buildings line the park and the streets around it. Larger apartments are in short supply in Gramercy and consequently more expensive. For those who want access to the private and gated park, it opens to the public every year for Christmas Eve caroling, or you can book a night at the Gramercy Park Hotel.
