The events of September 11, 2001 demolished the twin towers of the World Trade Center and put Lower Manhattan to a halt. This was however short-lived because of the city and federal government’s decision to rebuild and rezone the area. Many office buildings have been converted to apartments with doorman and hotel-like luxuries like resident lounges, full size gyms and roof decks. Outside of Wall Street the Financial District seems not so financial at all; food and drinks abound at South Street Seaport and Stone Street and Fulton street fish market brings you the latest catch to your doorstep. You will find many if not all subway lines just a couple of blocks apart, and with the updated Fulton Street station every part of Manhattan will feel closer.
