Hudson Yards is a newly redeveloped district on the far west side, bounded roughly by 42nd Street, 8th Avenue, 30th Street, and Hudson River Park. Meticulously designed and constructed atop West Side Yards, the development is an engineering marvel that celebrates both the history and future of New York. The project is to be executed in two phases, the first of which opened in early 2019. Phase two is slated for completion by 2025, to ultimately include over a dozen structures. The landscape currently consists of an expanse of public gardens, entertainment attractions, and sleek mixed-use towers- which house retail, commercial, and luxury residential spaces.
Characterized by modern architecture and great energy, Hudson Yards aspires to be a destination in itself. The Shops at Hudson Yards feature over 100 retailers, including gourmet markets, upscale restaurants, and unique eateries that represent an amazing array of cuisines. The Public Square and Gardens connect to both Hudson & Bella Abzug parks, and serves as a point of entry to the High Line. Just adjacent is The Shed, an exhibition space and performance art venue. The centerpiece of the complex is the Vessel, an impressive interactive sculpture that has quickly become one of the city's most popular and recognizable urban landmarks
