Nolita (which stands for “North of Little Italy”) is a trendy little neighborhood that once belonged to Little Italy but has gradually lost most of its recognizable Italian character. A younger, hipper crowd now inhabit the characteristic walkup buildings. Narrow streets, picture-perfect window displays and sidewalk cafes make it enjoyable to walk around. Similar to SoHo, however, Nolita has much less tourists which gives it a more local feel.
