Park Slope is one of Brooklyn’s most elegant, expensive neighborhoods, and considered one of the most desirable neighborhoods in New York City. Park Slope was originally a wealthy neighborhood but when its upper class left for the suburbs for a while it was deteriorating. When in the late 20th century artists and preservationists started to restore the beautiful brownstones, Park Slope came back to life. Today, young professionals, families and artists interested in a cheaper alternative to Manhattan inhabit Park Slope. Green space is abundant in the neighborhood. Easy access by car and subway make traveling to work an option, but even if you decide to stay, Park Slope is completely self-sufficient and its main avenues are filled with boutiques, restaurants and bars.
