Prospect Heights is relatively small and is notable for its mixture of older buildings under reconstruction, rows of classic 19th century brownstones right across from newly built luxury condominiums. Housing prices vary widely due to new developments and limited supply of townhouses. The neighborhood's shops and restaurants can be found along Vanderbilt and Washington Avenues and entertainment is close at the Brooklyn Museum, the Botanic Gardens, the Brooklyn Public Library. The completion of the Barclays Center, a landmark sports and entertainment arena and home to the NBA's Brooklyn Nets basketball team, will have a tremendous effect on the neighborhood. Prospect Heights has abundant green space, cultural diversity, acceptable housing prices and excellent subway access.
