Astoria is a middle class neighborhood in the northwestern corner of the New York City borough of Queens right along the East River and north of Long Island City. Like many New York neighborhoods Astoria has great ethnic diversity with a Greek immigrant majority. It is also one of the neighborhoods where many Brazilians and Colombians reside. Family shops stand next to modest townhouses in otherwise quiet streets where neighbors greet each another by name. Recently it has filled up with students giving its main roads (Broadway and 30th avenue) a youthful charm and welcoming attitude. In this laid-back neighborhood you will find various culinary destinations, a famous beer garden from 1910 and the museum of the moving image.
