The Flatiron District – named after the famously triangular Flatiron building - is an area that revolves around two attractive squares. At the center of Union square you’ll find a colorful, ever-changing street scene of entertainers, eccentrics, chess players, merchants and city folk passing through. To the north, suits and ties share the sidewalks with skateboarders and protesters in Madison Square Park, where during lunch time people line up in front of Shake Shack. The real action starts at night though when high-heeled scenesters frequent its lounges, roof decks, clubs and cabarets. The neighborhood is filled with glorious cast-iron architecture that look great from the outside and even better from the inside as they were transformed into huge luxury lofts and creative office spaces.
